Colbert, Facade renovation and compliance, Marseille (13)
The renovation of the facades of the Colbert residence is part of a larger project to bring the railings of the CDC Habitat – Adoma social landlord’s buildings in Marseille into compliance. An inventory of these railings was carried out in order to seal, fill and install them at the required height.
The Colbert building required additional work to those of the railings, particularly on the balconies.
The building is remarkable, at the corner of Cours Belsunce and Rue d’Aix in Marseille, and, with the UDAP 13 service, a stainless steel mesh railing solution was chosen. Installed between the woodwork and the cast iron railings, this mesh is installed on all the bays.
The balcony railings were removed and replaced at the right height, after restoration of the balcony decks and piers severely damaged by pollution. A general cleaning of the stones of the facades and the restoration of the shutters were undertaken in parallel.
The work was carried out by two companies with heritage qualifications, Girard and Molinelli, during the first half of 2022.
